The MyNewSelf program has a new support service for our weight loss surgery patients and their families.

The MNS Spouse and Family Group is the result of numerous requests from our patients, asking that there be a professionally facilitated group for their family members.

As bariatric patients move through their weight loss journey, they are often unprepared for the changes that result in their life, such as becoming more active in social settings, or acting on interests that they were unable to attempt prior to weight loss.

Our patients find that their self-esteem rises and with it the confidence to change things in their lives, including relationships.  The change in the household affects the family as much as the patient.  Even positive change can be stressful.  This group provides a place for spouses and families to understand these changes and continue to grow emotionally along with our patients.

Our Family group is open to the MYNEWSELF Alumni families and meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.
